Meeting with Tetiana Literati, a journalist, researcher of Uzhgorod’s history, honorary citizen of the city, author of the book series \u201cLost Uzhgorod\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Her stories about Uzghorod are widely read, and her books are not only given as gifts but also collected. Copies of her books have been traveling the world for a long time: they are in Mexico, the United States, Israel, the United Kingdom, Portugal, Turkey, and neighboring countries, most of all in Hungary, where many people from Uzhgorod live.<\/span><\/p>\n

Over the years, while working on the series \u201cLost Uzhgorod,\u201d Tetyana Literati has learned many stories of local families. The video project \u201cLost Uzhgorod\u201d is also in the process of filming and editing, where Tetiana Literati is an expert and presenter.<\/span><\/p>\n

Pavlo Khudish, Associate Professor of the Department of Archeology, Ethnology and Cultural Studies at the Institute of History, said: \u201cTetiana Literati is doing an extremely important work. She creates a so-called history from below, a story told in the first person. This is a fairly new and popular trend in historiography – to describe not general processes or events, but the fates of specific people. These are unique things. Not every historian can work with historical sources the way she does. In my tours, I also sometimes use personal stories that Tanya writes about.
