Hello, my name is Liubov Mykhailiuk, I am a Ukrainian, a Christian, and these are the main pillars that form my identity.
Since the beginning of the war, together with my colleague Ksenia-Teresa Tarnavska, a candidate for psychotherapy, I have created a project of psychological resource support for victims of the war with Russia in Zakarpattia called “THE TREE OF MY LIFE” and have already launched it in three cities: Uzhgorod, Mukachevo, and Svaliava. You can find more information on the hashtag #Tree of My Life on Facebook.
This project was not born by chance, because nothing happens by chance in this life, only with the permission of the Creator. For almost more than a year, life itself, circumstances, and events led to this.
The essence of our project is to provide group face-to-face psychological and resource support to all victims of the war during a certain cycle of meetings.
Resource support is aimed at volunteers, internally displaced families who stay here for a longer period of time, children whose parents sent them here to live alone to save their lives, and fellow Transcarpathians who need additional support to restore their psycho-emotional strength.
Why is resource support primarily focused on volunteers?
– Our volunteers are at the forefront of their frontline;
– They work non-stop, putting their physiological needs such as sleep, rest, and food on the back burner.
Therefore, it is quite understandable that they need additional psycho-emotional resources for such dedicated work. After all, a person working on adrenaline eventually exhausts his or her resources, the psycho-emotional state becomes unstable, the person loses the ability to think soberly, have common sense, react quickly and act, insomnia, irritability, hypersensitivity may manifest over time, panic attacks, fear attacks, excessive aggression may develop, and all this leads to a deterioration in physical condition, the development of psychosomatics, and thus to the disability of volunteers in the truest sense of the word. Therefore, we have a duty to take care of them first and foremost in such circumstances.
Since the vision of our project is to restore the pillars of our identity, which we will rely on, and thanks to which we will be able to rebuild ourselves and our country after our victory, we must all follow the path of 5 stages today:
– Stage I – to survive;
– II – to win;
– III – to return to our homes;
– IV – to rebuild our homes, every village, town, city, capital, and state;
– V – to be free, independent and happy in God’s favor, to be co-creators of our future with our children and for our descendants.
And for this journey, we need a powerful internal resource.
