It’s normal to feel anxious about what’s going on.
The main thing is not to panic
Panic distracts us from reality, we lose grounding, contact with ourselves, we may not understand what to do, how to react.
In order not to panic
1. Self-regulation – breathing exercises: inhale through the nose, exhale through the mouth
2. Exercise 5,4,3,2,1 – through the senses we return to the principle “here and now”: find 5 objects, find 4 things that I can feel tactilely, find 3 sounds, 2 smells and taste something and feel this taste
3. Everyone, depending on their psychotype, has their own reaction to stress
– Someone is greatly helped by the connection with God: personal prayer, songs of praise, traditional prayers
– Emotional people need to cry, scream – give out through emotions
– Some people need body work: take a brisk walk, run, clean, work in the garden
– Rational people: these ones demand to monitor the situation and logically sort everything out for themselves
– People of contact: those who need to call someone, share, volunteer
– Those who are emotionally discharged through creativity: music, embroidery, painting, wood carving, etc.
For some people, several areas may be combined: here it is important to feel that it helps me relieve anxiety
These events that we experience are higher than us.
The only thing that can give us strength is connection with our highest: connection with God, trust in God, trust in Him who is the highest.
