MACs – metaphorical association cards.
There is a great psychological tool for working with the subconscious mind – metaphorical association cards. These are pictures, and images the size of a playing card or postcard. They depict people, their interactions, life situations, landscapes, animals, household items, and abstract images. Some sets of cards combine a picture with a caption, while others include separate picture cards and word cards. The combination of words and pictures creates a play of meanings, helps to better understand a particular context, to study one or another topic that is relevant to a person here and now.
Our thinking is imaginative. We look at the same thing, but everyone sees something different depending on the situation and their own experience. That’s why we can use images, associations, and metaphors to find an answer to any question we have and solve a problem that worries us. Because the answers to all questions are inside us, and only we know how best to act in a given situation. Pictures help us see these answers and realize ways to solve difficult situations.
There is no official or correct interpretation of the images in metaphorical cards. Each image stimulates imagination and emotional intelligence. They do not contain any specific interpretations, they do not have a specific meaning, no one can say what they mean to you – it is the associations they evoke that are important. These associations are the answer to your questions.
