He is the author of books, short stories, novels, and novellas, including: “Rodaki”, ‘The Tree of Green Rain’, ‘The Cradle of the Sun’, ‘And the Earth Still Spins’, ‘The Time of Mushroom Sorrow’, ‘The State Copony’, ‘Gosundragoshi’, ‘The Zhivan World’, ‘Zbyivych or No Kin’, ‘Whatever the Lords Play With, There Would Be No War’, ”… And in Death Were Your Eyes,” ‘Autumn of the Great Heavens, or Pryrychansky Characters,’ ”Visions of Sighted Water, or Stupid Ivan Shoots and Bohonka Directs the Bullets.”
Dmytro Keshelya also wrote books for children: “Marmalade” and ‘The Shining Animal’.
His plays The Voice of the Great River, Wooden People, Zakarpattia Christmas, and The Fool from the Nativity Scene have been staged on the Ukrainian stage and abroad.
Dmytro Keshelya writes not only in Ukrainian, but also in the Carpathian dialect.
His works have been translated into English, Hungarian, Romanian, Czech, and Slovak.
Dmytro Keshelya is a screenwriter and director of more than 10 documentaries about the culture, history, traditions and famous historical figures of Zakarpattia.
He was awarded the Fedir Potushniak Zakarpattia Regional Literary Prize four times.
